Cheap PC Games

Every year Steam run their famous “Steam Summer Sale”, which sees games with their prices slashed by up to 80%. Unfortunately we are a little late for that but fear not, Steam have you covered. This year they are running an Autumn Sale, which has some incredible games at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay. For those of you that don’t know, Steam is an online store for PC games. However, unlike places such as Amazon or, the games are only available as a “digital download” — so there won’t be a CD coming through the letter box any time soon and no need to wait for delivery! Just download, click play and away you go! So, we’ve shifted through the hundreds of games on offer and come up with the 5 best value for money titles. Here they are:

5. Dishonored. £29.99 £14.99.

Dishonored is perhaps one of the years stand out titles. You take the role of an assassin in this first person shooter, who has mystic abilities and a plethora of weapons and toys to keep things interesting. The storyline develops based on your decisions which really adds to the replay value, ensuring you’ll get dozens of hours of entertainment for your money.

4. Batman: Arkham City. £19.99 £4.99.

A massive 75% of the latest offering from Batman on the gaming circuit. This game is almost a year old now but nonetheless, it holds its own and will still provide hundreds of hours of entertainment with its open world format and engaging combat system. At £4.99, you really can’t go wrong.

3. F1 2012. £29.99 £14.99.

The ultimate racing experience on the PC, in our opinion. You can either race as Lewis Hamilton or any of the other real world F1 drivers, or you can create your own driver and take him from test driver to multiple world champion status. Negotiate contracts, compete in practice sessions, qualifying and the pretty much anything else that you can think of. This really is the complete Formula 1 experience.

2. Civilization V. £19.99 £4.99.

Absolutely unbelievable value here. You’ll be hard pressed to find a “real” Civilization player who hasn’t put thousands of hours into the game. One play through will take you months, perhaps even a year if you play a couple of hours a night. At £4.99 that’s just crazy value. You’re still here?! Your people await you!

1. Skyrim. £34.99 £24.99.

Skyrim is the best game of the year so far, there’s no doubt about it. The combat system is brilliant, the graphics even better and the depth of the game is unparalleled. This particular game is great value at £34.99, so £24.99 is an absolute steal. We won’t go into great detail about what you can or can’t do, instead we’ll just show you this trailer — it sells itself!
